GOLF

Where the mountains meet the fairways

Golf is one of the most popular activities in our community.  SaddleBrooke Country Club is a private golf club owned and operated by SaddleBrooke One and play is restricted to members only.  More than 30% of the residents play golf and our golf courses are rated among the best in southern Arizona.  The rating has been earned by the aggressive horticultural and maintenance programs implemented and supervised by our course superintendent and director of golf. The major recent programs include the complete regrassing of the courses in 2015-2018, the installation of an entirely new irrigation system, and a complete renovation of the bunkers.

The 27-hole facility includes three 9-hole courses named SaddleBrooke, Tucson and Catalina.  Each of the courses has its own “personality” and challenges, but all feature the beautiful background of the Catalina mountains.  The course rotations change daily so you will play a different layout every day.  Excellent driving range and practice areas complement the golf courses with certified PGA professionals available to provide game improvement instruction.  SaddleBrooke golf memberships are available on an annual basis with options suitable to all levels of play.  Player leagues include the SaddleBrooke Men’s Golf Association (SMGA), the SaddleBrooke Women’s Golf Association (SBWGA), the Men’s Niners, the Lady Niners and the “Sputters” for golfers who just want to putt and chip.  Each league features weekly competitions, annual Member-Guest tournaments, and outside competitions with other courses in the Tucson area throughout the year.

In addition to golf in SaddleBrooke One, our residents may play both of the two additional golf courses in SaddleBrooke on a daily fee basis. The Mountain View course and The Preserve course both allow outside play for non-residents. Residents will have access to a total of 63 holes of golf!

The Tucson Nine

The Tucson Course is widely regarded as the most difficult of the three courses at SaddleBrooke One.  The course challenge lies in its length, deep bunkering, and small but undulating putting surfaces.  The course offers stunning views of the Catalina Mountains on every hole.  They will help take your mind off the challenge that lies before you.

The SaddleBrooke Nine

The SaddleBrooke Course ventures west from the clubhouse and offers spectacular sunset views.  The course is characterized not by length, but from a premium on accuracy and subtle undulating greens.  The signature second hole provides the backdrop to the community entrance with a dramatic 125-yard carry over a lake.  This is the original course built on the property and is often the most requested course for its fair but challenging layout.

The Catalina Nine

The Catalina Course is the newest of the three courses at SaddleBrooke One.  The course traverses both sides of a natural arroyo to the south of the practice green.  The course brings the golfer up-close views of the Catalina Mountains with the Tucson valley in the distance.  The course is highlighted by three challenging par three holes of varying lengths and plays to a par of thirty-five.

The courses listed below are open to all SaddleBrooke residents and the general public.

THE PRESERVE

Winding through the beautiful canyons and foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, The Preserve Golf Club 18-hole Championship Course gives you the feeling that you’re literally on top of the world.

MOUNTAIN VIEW

With elevated tees and holes amidst dramatic boulders, Mountain View Golf Course presents an enjoyable challenge to novices as well as avid golfers, all surrounded by majestic mountain views.
